FAITH IN THE THIEF
Label: Milled Pavement Records
Catalog#: MP047
The husband and wife duo, Crunk Witch, are releasing their sophomore full-length album this March.
Entitled, Faith In The Thief, their electronic rock album will be released on Milled Pavement records. Members Brandon Miles and Hannah Colleen describe Faith In The Thief as "A story about two lovers that work together as mercernary spies. While on a job, they steal from the wrong person, the leader of a group of people called "Mystics", that not only retrieve's his goods, but take's the female counterpart with him as a lesson to the male. Wisked into a portal the male spy dives in and the story takes off from there. Through desert, through forest, through space and time. Captured, awakened, drugged, and bloodied, all to find his love again."
According to Miles the songs are filled with many societal themes, however "it mainly focus's on people's reluctance to take their lives in their own hands. Too many people say stuff like 'I would but....' or 'I'd love to someday'. It's time to wake up, because we're all going to die. What better time to live? Actually, I think that's the main theme of the band."
The band will begin a 36 date tour in support of the record starting March 8th, and continuing on across North America.
The album will be available for purchase March 9th 2012 at most major digital outlets including, iTunes, Shockhound, Napster and Amazon, as well as at the Crunk Witch Store on Etsy, and Milled Pavement Store.
Crunk Witch formed in late 2009 when the band began touring in support of their self released EP, The Battle Beyond. The EP quickly sold out and the band signed with Milled Pavement Records in March of 2010
Their debut full-length, The Legends Of Manicorns, received positive reviews and earned Crunk Witch the award for "Best Electronic Artist" at the Phoenix Awards that same year.
In early 2011, the group garnered a heavy youtube buzz when their song, The Battle Beyond, was featured in a video, by youtube personality Jenna Marbles, that gained over 13 million views.
