CRUNK WITCH

The husband and wife duo, Crunk Witch, nominated for a Phoenix Award for “Best Electronic Act” this year, is releasing their first full-length album this June, The Legends Of Manicorn. Crunk Witch, comprised of Brandon Miles and Hannah Colleen, will be releasing their electronic/rock/punk album on Milled Pavement Records. Miles describes The Legends Of Manicorn as “a fantasy/horror epic, based on the legend of a warrior with a man’s body but a unicorn’s blood and spirit. The album’s story continues as the warrior fights to overthrow a world plagued by fascism and religous radicalism, weilding an army of zombies, demons, cannibals and other creatures."

According to Miles the songs are filled with anti-religous, societal and political themes, but do not take themselves too seriously and “mix goofy sarcasm with the more serious tones of the album. Much like a great (bad) horror/sci-fi film.” All 5 songs from Crunk Witch’s self-released EP, released in August 2009, will be included, paired with 6 new tracks on the new album. The band will begin their album release tour this August.

The album will be available for purchase at the Milled Pavement Store, Bullmoose Music, Newbury Comics, Access Music, Phonographique, VinylKingz and available for download at most major digital outlets including, iTunes, Shockhound, Napster and Amazon.

Crunk Witch formed in 2009 when Miles was finishing up a tour for his full-length solo album Kiss the Stars released on Milled Pavement Records. Miles’ wife, Collen, then his girlfriend, tired of being left behind on the tour and went on the road as his DJ. The response to the couple performing together was so positive that it became a permenant change and the band was formed. When the two married they began writing and recording their self released EP, The Battle Beyond, and went on tour in October of 2009.

The EP recieved positive reviews and earned Crunk Witch three nominations on the Nobody Cares Awards Show including “Best Band/Group" which the band won.

The band became affiliated with Peta2, becoming a sponsored artist for their Next Big Thing program. In April of 2010 Crunk Witch was nominated for a Phoenix Award for “Best Electronic Act.”
