Nic Edwards (Nicotine) began experimenting with records at 13 in the 1980's under the tutelage of his uncle Reggie. Reg took him to legendary nightclubs; Odell's, Godfrey's, Cignal, and other "holes in the wall" in Baltimore. This is where Nic began a love affair with the music. With an acquired set of used Technic 1200's and a UREI mixer, the music took over where his uncle left off, taking him to clubs and events before he was old enough to even legally attend them. It's easy to see that Nic and the music have a passionate relationship, but difficult to tell when Nic is playing the music or the music is playing him. He loves the music and the music loves him back.
One can't easily categorize Nic Edwards' musical style, but his truly addictive blends of chugging house tracks mixed with hip hop, r&b and rock splashes leave his listeners astounded. Nic has mixed in clubs from Maine to Miami, and from Baltimore to Las Vegas, and it is a pleasure to witness this native Baltimorean bring these seemingly opposing styles to the tables. He resolves these differences in the mix, leading the audience into his harmonic convergences.
Fast forward to present day and you'll find Nic rocking parties and clubs across New England, sharing techniques with his many proteges. Still humble and always pushing the constantly changing styles to new limits, one only has to hear a session with Nic to experience his genius.
